Parish youth basketball for boys and girls, grades 3 through 8. No
experience required, volunteer coaches, and a season built around
teamwork — not tryouts.
Everything families ask about — practices, fees, schedule, and how to pitch in.
About the Program
St. Joseph's Yorkville CYO Basketball welcomes kids from our parish and
the surrounding community to play, learn teamwork, and have fun — no
experience required. Teams are organized by grade and gender, with
volunteer coaches and games throughout the season.
Practice Nights
Practice nights for the 2026–2027 season haven't been confirmed yet.
TBDDays and times post here once gym slots are locked in.
Open Gym Nights
Before the season starts, all players are invited to an open gym night
so coaches can meet the players and organize teams — these are
not tryouts, just a fun evening to kick off the season.
Boys and girls nights are held separately.
We Need a Coach for Boys 3/4
Without a coach, these players don't get a season. We'll work around
your schedule — Saturday practices are an option too. No elite
credentials needed, just someone willing to show up for the kids.
The gym is occasionally unavailable around school breaks and events.
Dates are set with the school each season and shared ahead of time.
Volunteers Make It Run
CYO relies on parent volunteers: two people at the school door whenever
it's open, the scoreboard and scorebook at home games, and gym cleanup
afterward. A sign-up goes out once the home game schedule is set.
How to Pay
Venmo Marielle Rodriguez (@Marielle-Rodriguez1), or
bring a check payable to St. Joseph's Church to the
Parish Office — not the school.
Outgrown jersey? Bring it to your open gym night.
Team Chats
Once teams are finalized, each coach sets up a group chat (usually
WhatsApp) for practice updates, away-game logistics, and photos.
